Yes. There will be several coffee stations around the building proving complementary coffee to all participants all day long. Also, the NCTE will provide complementary snacks for all participants during the morning coffee break.

2.      Is lunch included?

Unfortunately no. However, the CCCN’s cafeteria usually has lunch specials at a very fair price, and there are many restaurants in the area. In fact, the food court at the San Pedro Mall is within walking distance.

3.      How should I dress for the conference?

Comfortable casual clothes are recommended.

4.      What is the Presenter’s Lounge?

The Presenter’s Lounge is a place for presenters and special guests to unwind, have a cup of coffee, or put the final touches on their presentations. Access is restricted to presenters and special guests only.

5.      Where can I have Internet Access?

The CCCN provides free WI-FI access to all participants. Also, participants can access internet at the Multimedia Lab (fourth floor).

6.      Will/can the NCTE provide transportation to and from the airport?

Unfortunately no. However, there are many taxis available at the airport. For better service, we recommend our foreign presenters to ride “Taxis Unidos”.

7.      What happens if I lose my badge?

Without a badge, you won’t be able to attend any sessions. To replace a badge, you will need to go to the Academic Department at the CCCN and pay a $20 replacement fee.

8.      What is the Servicio Civil Certificate? How can I get it?

The Servicio Civil Certificate enables MEP (Ministry of Public Education) Teachers to earn points towards a salary increase. To qualify, MEP teachers need to attend all 14 sessions and turn in the certificate request form at the CCCN’s Academic Department by February 8th, 2008. Teacher may pick up certificates in June at the MEP’s Academic Education office at the Raventos building. Certificates from last year may also be picked up at this office any time. Only Costa Rican MEP teachers qualify for this Certificate.

9.      If I have to leave before certificate pick-up time, how can I get my certificate?

Participants need a minimum of 8 stamps on their attendance sheets to qualify for an Attendance Certificate. Attendance Certificates will not be handed out before certificate pick-up time, but may be picked-up at a later date at the CCCN’s Academic Department.
