1. Will
coffee be available to participants?
Yes. There will be
several coffee stations around the building proving complementary coffee to
all participants all day long. Also, the NCTE will provide complementary
snacks for all participants during the morning coffee break.
2. Is
lunch included?
Unfortunately no.
However, the CCCN’s cafeteria usually has
lunch specials at a very fair price, and there are many restaurants in the
area. In fact, the food court at the San Pedro Mall is within walking
distance.
3. How
should I dress for the conference?
Comfortable casual
clothes are recommended.
4. What
is the Presenter’s Lounge?
The
Presenter’s Lounge is a place for presenters and special guests to
unwind, have a cup of coffee, or put the final touches on their
presentations. Access is restricted to presenters and special guests only.
5. Where
can I have Internet Access?
The CCCN provides
free WI-FI access to all participants. Also, participants can access
internet at the Multimedia Lab (fourth floor).
6. Will/can
the NCTE provide transportation to and from the airport?
Unfortunately no.
However, there are many taxis available at the airport. For better service,
we recommend our foreign presenters to ride “Taxis Unidos”.
7. What
happens if I lose my badge?
Without a badge, you
won’t be able to attend any sessions. To replace a badge, you will
need to go to the Academic Department at the CCCN and pay a $20 replacement
fee.
8. What
is the Servicio Civil Certificate? How can I get
it?
The Servicio Civil Certificate enables MEP (Ministry of
Public Education) Teachers to earn points towards a salary increase. To
qualify, MEP teachers need to attend all 14 sessions and turn in the
certificate request form at the CCCN’s
Academic Department by February 8th, 2008. Teacher may pick up
certificates in June at the MEP’s Academic
Education office at the Raventos building.
Certificates from last year may also be picked up at this office any time.
Only Costa Rican MEP teachers qualify for this Certificate.
9. If
I have to leave before certificate pick-up time, how can I get my
certificate?
Participants need a minimum of 8 stamps on their attendance sheets
to qualify for an Attendance Certificate. Attendance Certificates will not
be handed out before certificate pick-up time, but may be picked-up at a
later date at the CCCN’s Academic
Department.
